ZSSA members, it is time to call for nominations for the Biennial ZSSA awards/grants. We are calling on you to consider nominating suitable receivers of the awards below.
The Gold Medal Award
The Gold Medal award is presented biennially by the ZSSA Council for outstanding achievements in Zoology in Southern Africa over several years. Such achievements need not necessarily be limited to research results. Candidates are proposed and seconded by members of the Society. Stevenson-Hamilton Award
The Stevenson-Hamilton award is offered biennially by the ZSSA Council in the form of a citation, medal, and certificate to an amateur Zoologist for exceptional contribution(s) to Zoology.
It could be awarded to any non-professional Zoologist.

Corporate Award
The ZSSA Council presents a biennial Corporate award to a company who has made an exceptional contribution to the advancement of Zoology in southern Africa. This assistance may be made through media coverage, donations or services rendered.

Lawrence Memorial Grant
The ZSSA Council may award a biennial Lawrence Memorial Grant if funds are available from the Lawrence Estate Bequest. The award should promote research on litter/edaphic fauna of the forest floor, and is open to graduate students as well as senior researchers who are members of the ZSSA.
