A scientific meeting is held every second year. Papers presented at these meetings may be submitted for publication in the Society’s Journal, African Zoology in the usual way.

Council may present a student prize for the best paper presented by a student at the scientific meeting. All bona fide full-time students registered at any University qualify to enter. The prize will be presented either at the Gala dinner or at the closure of the meeting.

An extended summary of the paper to be presented will be requested and should be available in advance of the meeting. Both the extended abstract and the oral presentation will be evaluated. Council will appoint referees and their decision will be final. If, however, no paper of the requested standard is received, no prize will be awarded that year.

The next conference will be held in 2025.
